Entries open online for inaugural FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cup final

The FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cuphas today,7 July, opened its online application process for entries. The event will be the first ever international FIA-sanctioned drifting competition, and willbe held at Daiba, Tokyo, on 30 September –1 October 2017. Ithas already generated a huge amount of interest since it was launchedat the 2017 FIA Sport Conference in Geneva.

Entries should be made via the official event website –www.fiadriftingcup.com

The deadline for entries will be 31July 12:00(CET), after which time, a selection committee will review the applications and the entry list for the event will then be published.

Conditions for entry are as follows:


・ Drivers will be evaluated by the FIA, and detailed informationon past achievements may be requested
・ Priority will be given to those having achievedthird place or higher in anationaldrift series
・ Once the applications process has closed, a selection committee will decide the successful candidates
・ Drivers must have international driver license of at leastD1 (FIA license {FIA I.S.C. -Appendix-L art.2.7}) issued by an ASN
・ The carsmust conform to the latest FIA safety guidelines.Technical and sporting regulations for the FIA IDCwill be released on 15 July, subject to approval of the World Motor Sport Council

Entrant Expense

・ Entry fee:2,500 USD/1 Car
・ Accommodation Fee: 3,500 USD/1 Team (3 Crews including drivers)Includes hotels(4nights), lunch meals at venue(4days), domestic transportationby bus in Japan. Extra personnel will incuradditional fee. Please inquire for further details.
・ International travel costs of personnel will be at the expense of the entrant.

Promoter Subsidy

Sea shipping costs for the car equipmentwill be covered by the promoter according to the organization guidelines.

*Depending on the country of origin, sufficient time will need to be given to ensure arrival at the destination point
